Known for its laid-back lifestyle, Bicheno is a coastal town in the island state of Tasmania. Situated along the easternmost border of Tasmania and directly facing the Tasman Sea, the community is located some 178 kilometres north-east of Hobart, the state capital. Formerly known as Waubs Harbour, The area was named after James Ebenezer Bicheno, British author and former Colonial Secretary of Tasmania.

Established as a whaling centre in 1803, Bicheno is part of the Local Government Area of the Glamorgan Spring Bay Council. Officially proclaimed a township in 1866, the community is represented in both the Tasmanian Legislative Assembly and the Australian House of Representatives by Lyons. The town's economy, as well as its estimated population of 640 residents, is sustained significantly by its crayfishing and tourism industries.

While primarily a fishing port and beach resort, Bicheno nevertheless has an assortment of other natural and man-made attractions for both locals and visitors to appreciate. As such, there is always something for people to experience and enjoy in the community. Some of the town's best features include Apsley Gorge Vineyard, Bicheno Aquarium, Bicheno Penguin Tours, Douglas-Apsley National Park, East Coast Natureworld, Rocking Rock, The Bicheno Birdlife Park, and Waubedebar's Grave.
